Appin is a multi-disciplinary organization that has provided competent, professional engineering
and building research advice to clients since 1980.

Grant conducts the BIG-NA 2002 BACnet Connected Interoperability Demo

Nine vendors participated in the demo.  Vendor systems were Ethernet connected to represent an Internet/Intranet environment. Each vendor controlled a building system (e.g., chiller, boiler, AHU, VAV box, VSD). and demonstrated all BIBBs.

Appin does work in three areas - mechanical system (HVAC) design, DDC system design & commissioning, and mold and IAQ investigations.  Here are some of our current projects.  We are:

  • applying Appin's "Best Value" procurement model to purchasing BACnet-based DDC systems for the military and a large school district.  Contact us for details.

  • designing an integrated PLC and DDC system control of a diesel engine generator power plant for a remote military base.

  • replacing a number of proprietary DDC systems with BACnet-based DDC systems.

  • designing HVAC system for a new 100,000 sq. ft. school and several school heating system replacements.

  • developing a risk management protocol for setting priorities for mold remediation projects.  We can show you how this protocol can apply to your situation.
